In September Lanna Rugby Club sent 7 teams to compete in the Thailand National 7s competition. This was the northern round, held in Phitsanulok. This weekend was a historic weekend as two teams from Lanna Rugby Club qualified from the รักบี้ฟุตบอลภาคเหนือ to join the other winning teams of the first round to compete in the finals!
This was the biggest tour in the clubs 5 year history with over 60 athletes and seven teams competing at the Northern Thailand 7s Tournament hosted by the excellent Rugby Phitsanulok. The teams excelled all weekend both off and on the field building excellent relations with other clubs from around the region.
Each team battled well with the U12 Girls and Lanna Lionesses going through as champions. This means that both these teams will be representing the north at the Thai Rugby Union National 7s final in Bangkok on October 11-12.
