Finally the Battle of the Beasts 2024 cup decider was upon us on the 25th May.
The Lions gather early doors to set off Chiang Rai bound to compete in this hotly anticipated annual competition against the Chiang Rai Northern Bears.
Coach and founder, Lonny Levi, welcomed the club shortly before the two sides got their gear and went through their drills in preparation.
It was a fantastic match, both sides gave as good as they got, alas there could only be one winner. The mighty Lions roared to victory, retaining the Battle of the Beast trophy and bragging rights for another year.
The Battle of the Beasts competition is an important fixture for Lanna Rugby Club, it’s not just a time to play some great rugby, but also a time to come together and help push this sport forwards
It’s impressive how much rugby in Chiang Rai has grown due to the amazing effort of Coach Lonny and his team. Great to see that rugby is alive and well in Northern Thailand. Up the bear!
